On September 24, 2025, the West Travis County Public Utility Agency (PUA) Board of Directors approved adjustments to retail water rates. These new rates will take effect with the first bill you receive in November 2025.
This is the first water rate increase since 2017. Over the past eight years, the cost of providing water service and maintaining and upgrading critical infrastructure has increased significantly due to inflation and tariffs.
The approved rate changes apply to both base and volumetric charges for water service. A residential/irrigation/fire hydrant customer using an average of 10,000 gallons per month will only see an increase of approximately $3 per month for water service.
To encourage conservation, the volumetric rate tiers above 35,000 gallons will be increased for residential/irrigation/fire hydrant customers. In addition, an Excessive Use Surcharge will also apply to any usage above 35,000 gallons.

Wastewater Rates
At this time, wastewater rates remain unchanged. A separate notice will be sent to wastewater customers once those rates are reviewed, with approval expected during the October 2025 Board meeting.
