Stage 4 Emergency Water Conservation

Stage 4 Emergency Water Conservation Measures

Due to high water levels and associated turbidity in Lake Austin from recent continuous heavy rains, the WTCPUAs water treatment plant capacity has been significantly reduced.  Accordingly, effective immediately the WTCPUA is implementing Stage 4 Emergency Water Conservation Measures until further notice with conditions outlined below.

Customers are required to eliminate non-essential water uses during an emergency. This includes, but is not limited to the following measures:

  1. Irrigation of landscaped areas is prohibited.
  2. Use of water for the irrigation of golf course greens, tees, and fairways is prohibited unless the golf course uses an alternative water supply source, such as reclaimed water, rainwater, or gray water.
  3. Use of water from fire hydrants shall be limited to firefighting and activities necessary to maintain public health, safety, and welfare only.
  4. No applications for new, additional, expanded, or larger water service connections, meters, service lines, pipeline extensions, mains, or water service facilities of any kind shall be allowed or approved.

Additional measures may be added as needed.

Customers who have additional questions should contact customer service at (512) 263-0125 or customerservice@wtcpua.org.
